Black History Month Highlight – Lisa Tyson, Community Connections Program Director, Center For Family Services on what the month means to her and what African American artist is an inspiration."I have been inspired by the art and photography of Cecil Williams. Cecil Williams is a local photographer that has a Civil Rights Museum located in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Mr. Williams is world renowned for his gift of art and photography. Mr. Williams has taken infamous pictures of Thurgood Marshall and John F Kennedy as well as so many other Civil Rights leaders. Mr. Williams has over 8 books of photography and history as well as 2 documentaries. I am inspired by him because of his tenacity to show the heart of Civil Rights through pictures and imagery."What African American artist inspires you?
